HEALTHCARE
General information
If you are from EEA countries we recommend you to apply for a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) before your arrival in Slovakia. If you are from a non-EEA country you can apply for another type of health insurance. Health insurance offers you access to reduced-cost medical treatment. Please note that the Slovak healthcare system does not provide all treatments free of charge. You will be asked to pay fixed fees for specific treatments. Make sure you consult a physician who is working under the Slovak health insurance system.
