HOW TO CLEAN YOUR ROOM

To make the room inspection as quick and smooth as possible, please prepare your room and the shared areas of your unit according to the following instructions.

We recommend that you do not leave the cleaning until the day of your check-out. This will give you more time to check everything, pack your personal belongings and avoid unnecessary delays during the inspection.

Below you will find a list of things that must be cleaned before the inspection.

 

ROOM

  • leave duvets and pillows without covers on the beds
  • clean the inside of the windows and the inner windowsill
  • empty cupboards, shelves and desks, including drawers, and clean them inside and outside
  • clean the room door, including the door frame and handle
  • dust the entire room, including the radiator
  • sweep and wash the floor, including under desks and beds
  • vacuum the carpet, if present

 

TOILET AND BATHROOM

Remove any waste from the washbasin and shower drain.

Clean:

  • washbasins
  • mirrors and lights above the mirrors
  • shelves
  • shower
  • all taps and remove limescale from them
  • wall tiles and remove limescale from them
  • toilet, including the bowl, seat and the area behind the toilet
  • toilet and bathroom doors, including door frames and handles
  • bathroom and toilet floor

 

HALLWAY + KITCHENETTE

  • clean the entrance door, including the door frame and handle
  • empty wardrobes and shelves; after the last resident checks out, nothing may remain in the wardrobes or on the shelves
  • clean all shelves and wardrobe doors, both inside and outside
  • unplug the hotplate and clean it from the top and bottom; clean the walls around the hotplate
  • clean the board under and around the hotplate
  • fridge: unplug the power cord, move the fridge, defrost it, clean it, wipe it dry and then leave it switched off and open
  • clean the floor under the fridge and the area behind the fridge
  • sweep and wash the floor in the entire hallway
  • take out the rubbish and clean the rubbish bin and dustpan
  • remove all your own electrical appliances from Družba UK
  • the rubbish bin, dustpan and broom must remain in the hallway as part of the room/unit inventory

 

BALCONY

only applies to rooms with a balcony

  • remove all items from the balcony
  • clean the balcony
